Corporate Team Building Event with Special Forces Adventure Training
We had a great corporate team building day with Special Forces Adventure Training at a secret location in the midlands, however, these guys say that they are very mobile and that they can stage an event anywhere in the UK. The day is the best we have ever experienced, fun, taxing, fast, furious, overwhelming and best of all beyond expectations.
The day started with getting kitted-up, full camo gear, black tactical vest, bush hat, radios, S10 Gas Mask ...."It's NOT a GAS MASK it's an S10 RESPIRATOR!!!!".... and automatic weapons. Following that we got split into two sections A10 & A20 and had a group photo taken prior to being instructed on radio protocol. After this we were straight in the field learning how and why things are seen, from evolution to what we are today. Camouflage and concealment involved, abstracting the surrounding environment and blending in completely including sound and movement, a real eye opener. The instructors are very knowledgeable and create solid foundations of fundamental knowledge and build upon it drawing links between new and previous information so that you totally understand everything that they teach you and why you need to know. Once they had taught us to disappear they showed us how to communicate with our team silently so to remain unobserved day or night.
After a lunch break we moved onto patrolling or getting from A to B tactically enabling us to select good routes avoid ambushes and anticipate enemy routes. Already being overwhelmed with new knowledge we then start to do the real testing stuff, fire and manoeuvre, deliberate attacks, immediate action drills, winning the fire fight etc. Then it was onto the range with the H&K MP5 and side arm where after being shown all the skills NSP's and the like we opened-up on figure 11 targets which we got to take away with us at the end of the day. This was good enough but then we were split into more groups where we were taught special survival and navigation skills, which blow your mind, before we went onto the CQB range Close Quarters Battle range consisting of moving through a wood full of pop-up targets which you have to engage using all the skill instilled into us through out the day so far. After this we completed a visualisations exercise before being instructed on the safe use of thunderflashes and smoke grenades. Know we are presented with a mission using proper military orders we have to use CTR close target recce information, satellite images, models and other information to plan and execute a final mission to achieve multiple objectives.
The final exercise was the best thing I've ever done, yes even that. Once we had been debriefed by the Directing Staff [DS]our team A10 were presented with an award which was a compact survival kit and a very bright LED tourch. We all got a 'T' shirt and group photo. Definitely a day that we will never forget for the rest of our lives, thanks to the guys at Special Forces Adventure Training.
We have created a link to their pdf brochure of their Corporate Team Building day that companies such as Wanadoo, Cadpo, Vetex, Peoplesoft, Soul Partnership, Tradelocator etc have all enjoyed, the link is;-
